On the centenary of the venerated statesman, freedom fighter and African patriarch, we joined the world in celebrating international Mandela Day with a taste of some Wetu ubuntu.

The world remains beset by so much human suffering, poverty & deprivation. It is in your hands to make a difference.

Nelson Mandela

Team Wetu answered the call with some fundraising to purchase an assortment of plants and went about potting them at Wetu HQ. All efforts went towards brightening up some bedrooms and putting smiles on faces of the residents at Erica Place in Athlone, Cape Town. We spent some time getting to know them – they so enjoyed having a chat and sharing their stories and family pics! For those of us who visited, it was a sweet, humbling experience. 67 minutes of service are minuscule in comparison with Tata Madiba’s 67 years of service to his people, but we saw today how every little bit counts and makes a difference in someone else’s life.

The mid-year Wetu stock take It’s gone by in a blur and here we are, just past the halfway mark of 2018 😱 We haven’t been sitting on our little hands, oh no. Wetu keeps growing, graduating, multiplying, innovating, developing, growing up and upskilling. But there’s been fun too.
