How Wetu enables Grant to empower the next generation of travel experts

Grant Anderson-Saville of Visions of Africa shares how Wetu revolutionizes itinerary creation, turning hours of work into minutes while enabling him to mentor colleagues and deliver unforgettable African travel experiences.

Personal passion that became a professional purpose

Born and raised in Africa, Grant Anderson-Saville has spent more than two decades crafting personal, travel experiences that speak to the soul of the continent. Now serving as Sales Manager for Visions of Africa, a UK-based African travel specialist, Grant blends his insider knowledge with a deep-rooted passion for connection. In recent years, his purpose has extended beyond designing unforgettable journeys to nurturing and growing professionals just entering the trade to do the same.

When magic took too long to make

Before Wetu, creating itineraries was a marathon – long, text-heavy Word documents stretching to five or six pages. “Turnaround time was incredibly slow,” he recalls. Time spent formatting left him little space for mentoring or building stronger client and partner relationships. For a business built on selling and marketing travel, speed and presentation are everything – and the old method just couldn’t keep up.

Finding the right tool - and the right people

When Grant interviewed for his role at Visions of Africa, Wetu was introduced during his interview. He’d heard the “this will change your workflow” pitch before – but this time, the promise came with proof.
“Honestly, it was one of the key factors in my decision to take the job,” he says. It wasn’t just about efficiency; it was about creating the space to focus on what mattered most – people.

Freeing time to pass on the magic

Today, even a complex two-week self-drive itinerary takes around 20 minutes in Wetu – done, saved, and sent. That speed has unlocked something more valuable than time: the ability to mentor. From guiding a Cape Town-based colleague who “soaks up knowledge like a sponge” to supporting new team members remotely, Wetu empowers Grant to reinvest his time in growing people.
“It’s not just about saving time – it’s about what that time allows,” Grant explains. “I can now pass on my knowledge, mentor my team, and make others shine. And that, to me, is everything.”

Powering partnerships that enrich travel

Grant’s relationship-first approach extends to how he approaches work with his agents.

By rebranding itineraries for independent agencies, hiding complex details like commission and keeping the focus on the traveller’s experience, Wetu strengthens every link in the travel value chain – from travel agents to tour operators to ground handlers. “We make the agent look good, and then it’s down to the ground handlers to pull through. It’s a beautiful value chain,” Grant says.

Why this matters for travel pros today

Grant’s story isn’t just a feel-good story – it’s a blueprint for how travel businesses can improve productivity and deliver the personalised, visually rich content that travellers expect. In an industry where travel content marketing, collaboration, and speed are the baseline, Wetu gives professionals the freedom to focus on relationships and crafting itineraries that inspire action.

Visions of Africa is a specialist UK-based tour operator with over 23 years’ experience designing bespoke African travel. Their itineraries are defined by authenticity, expertise, and a love of sharing the continent’s wonders -delivering journeys that inspire, connect, and last a lifetime.
