CEO Newsletter: December 2025

As 2025 winds down, I wanted to reflect on this year’s journey.

Before we jump into the highlights, a quick update: from January 2026, this newsletter will move to a quarterly schedule. This change comes in response to feedback from many of you asking for more clarity and consistency around Wetu’s product updates and feature news.

You’ll still receive this CEO quarterly roundup and commentary from me, but we’re adding more tailored product how-to videos and practical tips to help you get the most out of the platform. From time to time, we’ll also be sharing expert guest contributions on travel marketing and sales, insights from our Founder, Paul de Waal and webinar notifications.

Additionally, our Customer Success team will be launching a new monthly webinar series called Wetu Labs, supported by regular product update mailers. These short, practical sessions are designed to help you get more value from Wetu through tips, walkthroughs, and insights from our team. You can expect the first sessions and updates early in the new year.

We’re committed to keeping our communication timely, helpful and relevant, so in April, we’ll send out a quick survey to check how we’re doing.

And if you’d like to hear from me more regularly, feel free to follow me on LinkedIn, where I share trends and insights shaping Wetu’s direction.

Now, let’s take a look back at 2025…

🚀 Product News

In May we launched Profile Editor and Product Manager, designed to bring operators and suppliers closer together inside the platform. These tools help shape, personalise and govern content, enabling faster, more confident collaboration.

Contact Manager went live in October. The early adoption numbers blew us away – over 1,100 contacts created in the first week alone. Since then, we’ve been listening to your feedback, ideas, and wish lists, and have a great set of enhancements lined up for 2026. If you haven’t explored Contact Manager yet, reach out to one of our Customer Success Managers to book a walkthrough.

🛠 Feature Releases

This year’s product enhancements focused on usability, flexibility, and content control:

  • The new PNR Importer, a game-changer for high-volume teams
and one of our most requested features, was introduced in October. The PNR Importer makes it easy to drop in a PNR and instantly import flight details into your itinerary, saving you time from manual entry.
  • On 3 December, we introduced Smart-Build, a new feature introduced to the Profile Wizard. The Smart-Build feature uses AI to automatically convert a website URL into a structured, publish-ready Wetu profile by extracting descriptions, facilities, imagery, and location details and loading them directly into the Profile Wizard. This reduces the need for manual Profile setup, enabling you to spend more time refining your content.

🌍 Global Activity

2025 was the year Wetu stretched its legs further across the globe.

  • We officially launched Wetu LATAM through social channels, spotlighting regional voices and content.
  • The African Roadshow event in Mexico & Brazil drew 300+ agents across 3 events – proof that interest in Africa is growing, and tech-enabled selling is on the rise in Latin America.
  • We took the stage at WTM, Indaba, We Are Africa, and FIT – not just to showcase features, but to listen, learn, and connect with you. We look forward to connecting with you at the key shows again next year.

📈 Data Insights

  • Itinerary builds are up 14% YoY and 48% compared to 2023 – a clear signal that travel demand is growing, and that you’re meeting it head-on.
  • Our top 10 country data indicate more global diversity than ever in terms of itinerary destinations – with the USA, Thailand, Japan, and Costa Rica joining traditional African destinations like South Africa, Namibia, and Kenya.
  • Our commitment to delivering an unmatched content experience to you is a constant for Wetu’s team and platform. Hot off the press, data shows that between 1st January and 25th November 2025, 18,273 new supplier profiles were published on Wetu. We’ve broken these down by the country the published profile is based in, and the total published profile by type.

💬 Customer Experience

  • Live Chat now powers 45% of Wetu’s Customer Experience client interactions. At 93% satisfaction, it’s clear this channel is succeeding and resolving your small queries much faster.
  • A major priority for 2025 has been to create a customer success structure that deepens our partnership with you. Earlier this quarter, we introduced Customer Success Managers (CSMs) to proactively support your Wetu journey. If you’ve recently engaged with a CSM, please let me know how it went.

🔮 2026 and Beyond

We’re ending the year with a conversation that leans directly into our brand pillar of collaboration. Last week, we hosted the Power of Ours” webinar with Lindsy Terry, exploring how strategic trade partnerships are reshaping travel marketing. It’s a philosophy we deeply believe in. If you didn’t have a chance to attend, check out the replay.

Thank you for another year of trust, ideas, patience (during the bugs!), and shared belief in what travel can be.

Here’s to 2026 being even more collaborative and connected.

Warm regards,

Neethling
